l and instrument cluster, This opened up the dash for the wiring, I had removed all and I mean all the previous wiring for the earlier set of gauges, The boost gauge was a tube, now a sender, the Trans temp looks the same as before, changed it anyway and the EGT probe was different size so out with all the fittings into the exhaust manifold. Installed all the newer parts and they looked fairly easy to hook up the power(s) and ground. Found a unused plug under the first gen dash in the main loom (weird, have to figure that one out) it had an always on power, a switched power and then I soldered a splice into the round plug going to the inst. cluster that was for the dash lights. that all completed, attached a few more grounds, did some rewiring on a few other things and buttoned it up. Of course had a few burbles in this but sorted them out in a few minutes and everything works great. turn the headlights on and the gauge dims, EGT is reading a bit different than the previous one, not a lot but at idle I was hitting about 180 to 200 EGT, now it is around 280-300, probe is in the same place, all my voltages are in spec. 14.2-14.6. Looks much cleaner, yet is so easy to see and read. even in bright sunlight and my Ray-Bans could see the trans. and boost display. I always forget photos as this would have been a good one. The first gen dashes are a wonderful assortment of plastic breaking and tabs falling off. Besides that I do recommend this gauge set up. very very clean looking. Thanks GlowShift this worked out very well.
