What Is a GlowShift Expandable Circuit?
Our Expandable Circuits are designed for powering GlowShift gauges by reducing installation time and removing the need to tap into your car or truck’s existing wiring. You can utilize your vehicle’s fuse box to effortlessly connect GlowShift 12 volt products by running the power wiring that comes with each gauge directly through it. Several different versions are available that include a 4 amp fuse and 2 Expandable Circuit fuse spots. A maximum of 4 gauges can be used with each Expandable Circuit. Multiple circuits are also required for connecting to each constant (un-switched), ignition (switched) and headlight switched 12 volt sources.
Easier Installation with GlowShift Expandable Circuits
Using an Expandable Circuit will make powering gauges much easier and eliminate the lengthy process of having to cut and splice wires. All you will need for installation is a wire stripper and wire crimper. Installation instructions are also provided to walk you through the process step by step. Before getting started, disconnect the negative side of your vehicle’s battery. Then locate your fuse panel and select a fuse that does not exceed 15 amps to power your gauge. This may be a constant (un-switched), an ignition (switched) and/or headlight switched 12 volt source.
Find the Right GlowShift Expandable Circuit for Your Installation
GlowShift has several different sizes available to choose from, including an ATO ATC Expandable Circuit, Mini Fuse Expandable Circuit, Micro2 Expandable Circuit and more. Check with your car or truck's owner's manual or fuse panel before ordering to determine which size will be applicable for your specific application. Selecting the right size essentially depends on matching the actual size of the fuse to the size of the Expandable Circuit which has the corresponding dimensions. Also make sure to choose a non-vital fuse source to power your gauge or other 12 volt accessory.
What is the main purpose of a GlowShift Expandable Circuit Fuse when installing gauges?
GlowShift Expandable Circuits make it easy to power our gauges using a car or truck’s fuse panel. Benefits include saving time on installation and avoiding cutting or splicing into your vehicle’s factory wiring.
How do I know which size GlowShift Expandable Circuit (ATO ATC, Mini Fuse, Micro2, etc.) my vehicle requires?
You’ll need to match the Expandable Circuit to your vehicle’s fuse type. Check your owner’s manual or pull a fuse to compare the size and style—ATO/ATC, Mini, or Micro2. Choosing the correct match ensures a secure fit in the fuse box and proper power delivery to your GlowShift gauges.
Can I use multiple Expandable Fuse Circuits in the same vehicle for different 12 volt sources?
Yes, you can use multiple Expandable Circuits in the same vehicle as long as your fuse box has available slots and each circuit is properly fused. This allows you to safely power different 12 volt accessories or multiple GlowShift gauges.
