GlowShift's 1/8-27 NPT Fuel Pressure Snubber Valve regulates, normalizes and eliminates fuel pressure spikes present throughout the fuel system during the initial ignition and start up of a diesel engine. The Snubber Valve limits these high pressure spikes to its output by use of a regulator. High pressure fuel system spikes are harmful and may cause early and unexpected failure of electronic fuel pressure sensors and/or sending units for fuel pressure indication devices and gauges. In some applications and cases, these high pressure spikes will cause sensors to fail prematurely.

The Snubber Valve is to be installed in line between the pressure port of the diesel fuel system and the fuel pressure sensor unit.

  • No Difference

I changed fuel systems on my diesel truck which required relocation of the sending unit and deleting the banjo bolt. The banjo bolt had a built-in snubber valve which I could no longer use. I installed the sending unit and snubber valve on the fuel pump but did not notice any difference in fuel gauge operation with or without the valve.

  • Snubber valve

Few years ago I bought 30psi Glow Shift manual fuel gauge that didn't read correctly, because it was jumping too much. So I called Glow Shift technical support if there is any solution. Unfortunately I was told that gauge is not meant for my engine. Recently I found out through advertising about the snubber valve, so I decided to try it. It works perfect and my gauge is stabilized now. I wish that Glow Shift technical support was more knowledgeable back than.

The original fuel pressure sensor was installed without a snubber valve which damaged the sensor. After installing a snubber valve and new sensor the gauge worked perfectly. The valve fixed my problem. Installation was easy.. I just removed the damaged sensor and screwed in the valve on the top of the fuel filer housing, then screwed the sensor onto the valve.

I installed two of these, one on a 1999 Dodge Ram 3500 diesel and one on a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel. Both keep a steady pressure to my Glowshift gauges. Nice to have and easy install!
