This Exhaust Temperature Gauge / Pyrometer properly measures the exhaust temperature of the engine. Excessive temperature should never pass the amount of the manufactures specifications. The causes of excessive exhaust temperature vary and the damages can become very costly. Many causes of increased exhaust temperature are: limited air intake, difference in temperature, exhaust back pressure and engine overloading. Many effects of this include: smoking, fuel waste, burned valves and damage to many internal parts of the engine.
