GlowShift’s Black 7 Color Series 60 PSI Exhaust Pressure Gauge measures how much exhaust pressure is driving your truck’s turbo in comparison to the amount of boost pressure being produced. The ideal ratio of exhaust pressure levels to boost pressure levels is 1:1, which will lead to optimal performance in a turbo diesel engine. While that ratio is not easy to reach, the objective is to remain as close to it as possible. Ultimately, it is important to monitor these drive pressure levels to protect from overboosting, which could also damage the turbo. This diesel exhaust back pressure gauge will help you with that process by displaying exhaust pressure readings from 0 to 60 PSI.
Black 7 Color Gauge Series

Also featured is GlowShift’s 7 Color through dial lighting system which allows you to select and change the color of your gauge lighting display by simply pressing the button located along the front of the exhaust back pressure test gauge. Easily cycle through the 7 Solid Color Settings and 2 Color Cycle Modes that utilize all of these powerful LED colors. Through these options, you can adjust the color of the gauge to match your truck’s factory dash lights, or you can customize the color and add your own personal touch and style to the inside of your truck. Plus with the Color Memory feature, you won’t have to reset the color of your gauge every time you turn on your vehicle. Your gauge will reflect your most recent color setting the next time it is active. By connecting the orange wire of your gauge to the factory headlight switch, you’ll be able to dim your gauge 30% when your headlights are turned on to reduce the brightness while driving at night.
Boost vs Exhaust Pressure
Boost pressure and exhaust pressure go hand-in-hand when it comes to the performance of a turbo-charged diesel engine. Exhaust pressure, or exhaust drive pressure, is produced when exhaust builds up and is trying to escape from the engine. In this type of engine, turbo will play one of the biggest parts in determining exhaust pressure levels. When boost pressure is increased, exhaust pressure will increase incrementally as well. Basically, the more boost you run, the more drive pressure you’ll get and engine performance can decrease. At the same time, lowering boost pressure will also cause exhaust pressure to decrease. This is where a ratio of 1:1 is considered the optimal balance between boost pressure and exhaust pressure, although that ratio is difficult to achieve. That’s why keeping as close to this ratio as possible is the goal. An exhaust drive pressure gauge will play a pivotal role in alerting you if exhaust pressure levels are running too high, helping you to make sure that boost pressure and exhaust pressure levels remain in balance.
